๐Ÿ›‘Amy Schumer Says John Cena Was โ€˜Actually Inside Herโ€™ During X-Rated Scene

Schumer, portraying a commitment-phobic party girl named Amy, starred alongside Cena in the 2015 romantic comedyย Trainwreck.

Her character is reluctant to embrace monogamy but finds herself entangled in a series of relationships, including one with Cenaโ€™s character, Steven, a devoted gym enthusiast.

Their on-screen romance led to a particularly memorable and racy scene, which the two actors have since discussed on multiple occasions.

Schumer previously shared her astonishment at Cenaโ€™s physique, saying (per theย Daily Star): โ€œItโ€™s a whole universe, that buttโ€ฆ Itโ€™s not even human. It felt like having a refrigerator on top of me.โ€

Jokingly, she added: โ€œI think it was probably harder for him. He had to, like, do something. I just did what I usually do when I have s**. Just lay there.โ€

The comedian also shared one significant regret from the experience: โ€œYou know what? I didnโ€™t get to feel his balls. Itโ€™s a major regret of mine. Major regret.โ€

On the other hand, Cena described filming the scene as โ€˜awkward.โ€™

In a 2015 interview withย Conan, the professional wrestler admitted: โ€œIt was awkward. And they wanted awkward, so we gave them awkward.โ€

During an appearance on Shannon Sharpeโ€™sย Club Shay Shayย podcast, Cena elaborated on the challenges of shooting the scene.

He recalled how the production team informed him he would be performing an exaggerated comedic s** sequence instead of delivering lines.

โ€œAmy is an angel, she made the environment so comfortable,โ€ Cena said. โ€œAnd then when I got the part, eventually they were like, โ€˜Yeah, itโ€™s a s** scene. We want you to do elaborate and crazy stunt s**, and all those lines you had? Weโ€™re probably not going to use them, weโ€™re just going to do this stunt s** scene.’โ€

Despite having experience performing in front of crowds due to his wrestling background, Cena admitted that acting in a s** scene was an entirely different challenge.

The actor explained: โ€œThis is the thing โ€“ right now, you guys at home think itโ€™s just us. No, thereโ€™s a whole f***ing world back here.โ€

He described the environment on set: โ€œCatering was right there, and the sound tent was right there. There are so many people you need to make a movie. There is nothing intimate about it. Nothing. So itโ€™s real embarrassing.

โ€œThey were literally like, โ€˜Try to have the most awkward s** you possibly can.โ€™ And with an audience watching that, itโ€™s different.

โ€œI donโ€™t want to say it sucks. Itโ€™s just different than you all think it is.โ€

Following the podcast, Schumer playfully responded via herย Instagramย Stories, posting a video of herself in bed with a caption that read: โ€œJohn, how dare you.โ€

She jokingly added: โ€œThat s** scene meant a lot to me, and I was, like, very into it. And Iโ€™m in love with you.โ€

Cena also revealed he was hesitant to tell his then-partner, WWE star Nikki Bella, about the scene beforehand.

In a past interview, he admitted: โ€œNicole had every right to be upset because I didnโ€™t tell her about it at first. I never really approached her with โ€˜Iโ€™m trying to do this thing.โ€™

โ€œNicole had every right to be mad because I should have told her from the beginning.โ€

But Schumer, too, has shared some BTS secrets about the scene.

When asked during an Australian talk show how she managed to keep a straight face while filming the s** scene, Schumer quipped: โ€œBecause he was actually inside me. Who am I to stop him?โ€

Though clearly a joke, her comment added to the humor surrounding their onscreen dynamic.

Co-star Bill Hader, present during the discussion, chimed in, adding: โ€œWrestlers, theyโ€™re not faking. When theyโ€™re wrestlers, they donโ€™t fake!โ€

To which Schumer humorously responded: โ€œItโ€™s real.โ€
